Since we staved off doom a little longer, I've done a some maintenance on a few apps…
Accuweather has been repaired -- on the back-end. Although the weather data comes from OpenWeather, the app remains very dependent on Accuweather's location database. While Accuweather's API had a free tier, which gave us just enough calls to bootstrap the hand-off to OpenWeather, that free tier has been removed. The replacement is $2 a month. I've changed the back-end to use that new offering, and will be footing the bill personally to keep this app alive a little longer -- I know its a key remaining use-case for many folks (including my bride!)
No updates needed on-device -- both TouchPad and Pre apps should start working again (they may need a Luna restart if you were using Exhibition mode).
Clock Sync has ended up being critical infrastructure, since the built-in mechanism for syncing time is dead. Unfortunately, Clock Sync itself depended on a server that's also long gone. I repaired it in 2022, using neverssl.com but they now do some funny redirects that webOS doesn't like.
The new fix, for 2025, is to use webosarchive.org as the time server -- at this point, webOS pretty much depends on that website anyway. You'll need to re-install the app to get it working again.
And finally, while there were no fixes needed, a shout-out for my Web Window app, which turned out to be very useful in monitoring security cams in Exhibition!
